Despite the guilt feelings he has, Claudius continues with his defensive
investigation of Hamlet
in the Nunnery Scene and, concluding that Hamlet
dangerous, decides to ship him to England
. The sinister defensive pattern of the
king's behavior here, it should be noted, is repeated following his disturbed
reaction to The Murder of Gonzago and Hamlet's
